This particular cable is the best way to connect DVI devices to HDMI equipment and the other way around with no disturbance on the strength of the digital transmission. The most typical use for this cable would be to hook up a computer to a HDTV in order to maintain the quality of high definition video. HDMI to DVI cables provide equivalent quality flawless screen resolutions as regular HDMI to HDMI cables.
Besides plugging in your PC to your HDTV, you can also hook up HDMI source devices such as an Xbox 360 or a Ps3 to a DVI supported computer monitor or display which has a DVI-D port.
