The only negative aspect of the the 5 RCA component cable is the cumbersome of it's width and handling. With the minimal cost of buying a new DVD Blue Ray player using HDMI cables, it is almost worth the effort of buying a new HD DVD player and only having to deal with the much smaller HDMI cable instead of the 5 RCA component cable required for the older DVD players.
