Product Description
Use this adapter to change your regular VGA Connector to DVI Connector.
Please Note: This is NOT designed to convert an analog signal into a digital signal. DVI-A only carries an analog signal
Q: Can I use this adapter with a HDMI to DVI adapter to convert HDMI to VGA or visa versa?
Answer: No, absolutely not. DVI-I connectors can connect to both digital and analog signals but carry those signals on separate pins. So the analog pins on the DVI connector that the VGA is connected to would not be connected to any of the digital pins that the HDMI is sending to the DVI.
Analog and digital signals are two completely different types of signal. Even if they were connected in the above scenario, you would not get any picture or sound. The signal would need to be sampled by a chip that would apply an advanced algorithm and re-encode it into the other format. This requires a video processor. It can not be done with simple pin adapters like these.
